Botanical Garden in Berlin Dahlem

A spontaneous idea took me the botanical garden in Dahlem.
I went there in mid-March because I wanted to see nice flowers
and to take some photos of them after this long, grey, cold winter season.
Sure, spring wasn't there yet, not in it's real brightness and it was still a bit bleak outside. Accordingly they didn't have much flowers in their outdoor facility when I went there. But I didn't get disappointed, the botanical garden has plenty of indoor areas. You can find numerous flowers there from all around the world. And they kept me entertained for hours,
I took hundreds of photos. Even the outdoor facility was nice.
And I'm sure that it's amazing when all the flowers are back and blooming. That's why I will go there again in a couple of weeks.
I'm sure that I will make more than just one post. This is the first set:

harbinger of spring

Last weekend I collected some ideas for new projects which really interest me.
It will take some time to prepare, to transact and to finish all of them.
But I took some photos on a walk about 1-2 weeks ago.
Spring isn't here yet but you can already see many heralds:

fancy district court is fancy

Today I took a walk through my lovely ghetto neighbourhood
and I found out that we have a fancy district court in Berlin Wedding.
Fortunately I always try to take one of my cameras with me.
But it wasn't easy to take photos there today.
The light literally sucked ass and peeing bums in the bushes and shady junkies didn't make it easier to concentrate on the shoots.
I have to go there again in springtime to get some better results.

broken window

Last weekend one of the windows in my living room broke.
It was jammed and I tried to close it just a little bit harder and suddenly the glass cracked and crashed in the backyard.
I guess it had some flaws because I really didn't push it that much.
I'm glad that the glasser and apparently my landlord see it that way too. Everything is repaired now and it looks like I don't have to pay for it.
But a couple of days ago I created a little tongue twister while thinking aboute the word "broken":

A broke broker broke Brett's beautiful brass butterfly by biting it badly. (:

Berlin Underground

The house I live in was built in 1903.
My apartment might not be the fanciest one in Berlin but I really like it.
And old buildings are very popular here.
But the basement can be creepy sometimes, especially when you have to go there in the middle of a stormy night. I dig spooky stuff a lot, so it's no problem for me. And I think about a couple of horror photo shoots.
Fortunately (...) we have many old ruined factories, industrial facilities,
clinics, underground tunnels and subway shafts etc. in and around Berlin.
Well, fortunately might be the wrong word in this case but those circumstances are very functional for spooky horror photography.
I will figure something out and make some plans anytime soon.

floral wreath

Gardening, plants, flowers and the art to arrange them and to make nice things with them has a long tradition in my family. I got this beautiful floral wreath as a present when I moved to Berlin. And my apartment is really much cozier since I got it. It brightens the winter time, especially the cold, dirty, muddy, grey days.

face down in the snow

Last night I dreamed that I was lying in the snow, face down.
My heart was sunken when I woke up from this quite mysterious dream.
I got out of bed and looked outside the window and I saw that everything was covered in beautiful snow. Suddenly I started to get really happy and decided to take a walk. So I grabbed one of my cameras and took some snapshots.
